About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Intelligent Automation

arenaflex is a global leader in advanced robotics, mechatronics, and sustainable packaging solutions. Our mission is to transform the way goods move, are sorted, and are packaged across the world’s most complex fulfillment networks. By blending cutting‑edge hardware, AI‑driven software, and environmentally responsible packaging, we enable customers to achieve unprecedented speed, accuracy, and sustainability. If you thrive in a fast‑moving, innovation‑centric environment where every test you design directly impacts real‑world operations, arenaflex is the place to make your mark.

Why This Role Matters

As the Robotics QA Requirements & Test Manager (Automation), you will be the bridge between product vision and validated reality. You will translate high‑level functional specifications into concrete, testable requirements, craft comprehensive test plans, and lead the generation of insightful validation reports. Your work will ensure that every robotic cell, autonomous vehicle, sortation system, and sustainable packaging component we ship meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Analysis & Decomposition: Review functional specifications from product teams and suppliers, ensuring they align with internal customer needs. Break down high‑level requirements into detailed, testable criteria.
  • Test Plan Development: Design end‑to‑end test plans that cover component, subsystem, and full‑system validation. Incorporate statistical methods, virtual simulations, and live‑environment testing to guarantee robust coverage.
  • Execution Support & Leadership: Partner with the QA Manual Testing team to execute field and lab tests, providing guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and ensuring adherence to test schedules.
  • Data‑Driven Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze test data using advanced software tools. Identify trends, performance gaps, and root causes of discrepancies.
  • Reporting & Communication: Produce clear, actionable test reports—including Discrepancy Reports, Configuration Documentation, Functional Test Logs, Fault Response Logs, Root Cause Analyses, and Metric Validation Reports—and present findings to product engineers, operations leaders, and senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal customers such as Operations, Robotics Mechanical Engineering (RME), Advanced Control & Engineering Systems (ACES), Supply Chain, Transportation, Worldwide Design (WWDE), and others to gather feedback, refine requirements, and ensure solutions meet real‑world operational demands.
  • Compliance & Standards Management: Maintain alignment with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations, ensuring all testing activities adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in QA methodology, introduce automation where feasible, and mentor junior QA engineers on rigorous testing techniques.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, test engineering, or validation for complex mechatronic or robotic systems.
  • Proven ability to translate functional specifications into detailed, testable requirements and comprehensive test plans.
  • Strong analytical background with expertise in statistical analysis, data visualization, and root‑cause investigation.
  • Hands‑on experience with both virtual simulation environments (e.g., ROS, Gazebo, MATLAB/Simulink) and physical test rigs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical findings to both engineering and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, and product management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to robotics and packaging (e.g., ISO 9001, CE, FCC, OSHA).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple test campaigns simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in sustainable packaging design and testing, including material durability, recyclability, and environmental impact assessment.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java for test automation and data processing.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated test execution.
  • Prior experience in a high‑volume fulfillment or logistics environment.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt).

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex systems, identify critical performance parameters, and develop measurable test criteria.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building relationships with diverse stakeholders, fostering open communication, and aligning goals across departments.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to documentation, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Creative approach to troubleshooting ambiguous issues and delivering actionable solutions.
  • Leadership: Capability to guide QA teams, mentor junior engineers, and influence decision‑making at the strategic level.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a rapidly evolving environment where priorities shift based on business needs.
