Our Mumbai hub is a critical node in this global network, where precision, safety, and continuous improvement converge to keep the marketplace humming.

Role Overview – Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineer (RME) – Data Entry & Facility Operations

We are seeking a proactive, client‑focused professional to join the arenaflex Strategies group as a Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineer (RME). This entry‑level, full‑time position is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and offers a unique blend of hands‑on technical leadership, data‑driven maintenance planning, and cross‑functional collaboration. As the linchpin of our preventive and corrective maintenance programs, you will lead a dedicated team of technicians, ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement across our fulfillment center (FC) operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Guidance: Direct, mentor, and motivate a crew of Maintenance Technicians, setting clear objectives, providing real‑time feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Preventive Maintenance Management: Design, schedule, and monitor comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) programs for all mechanical, electrical, and automation assets, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Safety Advocacy: Act as a safety champion within the team, promoting best practices, conducting regular safety briefings, and ensuring all work adheres to arenaflex’s rigorous safety protocols.
  • Procurement & Inventory Oversight: Manage maintenance‑related purchase orders, maintain optimal spare‑part inventory levels, and coordinate with the supply chain team to guarantee timely availability of critical components.
  • Asset Management & Documentation: Oversee the registration, tracking, and performance analysis of all FC systems—including power distribution, material handling equipment, conveyor networks, and robotics—using the CMMS platform.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with engineering, operations, and project management teams, actively participating in site‑wide initiatives, steering committees, and continuous‑improvement workshops.
  • Shift Operations & Uptime Optimization: Lead shift‑based activities, monitor equipment health, enforce adherence to SOPs, and drive corrective actions that maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and propose actionable enhancements to increase reliability, reduce downtime, and lower total cost of ownership.

A Day in the Life

Each shift begins with a brief huddle where you align the team on priorities, safety alerts, and performance targets. You then walk the floor, inspecting critical equipment, reviewing real‑time alerts from the CMMS, and ensuring that all technicians have the tools and parts they need. Throughout the shift, you balance reactive troubleshooting with proactive inspections, logging every activity in the system to maintain an accurate maintenance history. By the end of the day, you compile shift reports, highlight any emerging issues, and recommend process tweaks that will keep the FC running smoother tomorrow. The role operates on a rotating schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts to support 24/7 operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Formal trade certification as a Mechanical Fitter/Turner or an Electrical A‑Grade license.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi‑skill teams in a fast‑paced, assembly‑line or distribution environment.
  • Hands‑on exposure to robotics or material handling equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for scheduling, work‑order execution, and performance analytics.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret equipment data, generate insights, and drive corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with PLC‑based control systems and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
  • Familiarity with automated maintenance management tools and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Project management exposure, including the ability to coordinate cross‑functional initiatives and track milestones.
  • Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous‑improvement methodologies.
  • Prior exposure to large‑scale e‑commerce fulfillment operations or similar high‑throughput environments.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment failures.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Ability to inspire, develop, and retain talent, fostering a collaborative and safety‑first mindset.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Comfortable using data analytics to prioritize maintenance activities and measure the impact of improvements.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proactive approach to identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive communication style for reporting, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, shift‑based environment with evolving priorities.

  • CMMS platforms (e.g., arenaflex Maintenance Suite, SAP PM, or similar)
  • PLC programming environments (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)
  • Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) for maintenance KPI reporting
  • Mobile devices and handheld scanners for real‑time work‑order updates
  • Standard hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety gear
