Why This Role Matters

As a Remote Customer Service & HVAC Apprenticeship professional at arenaflex, you will be the front‑line liaison between our customers and our technical teams. You will help ensure that heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning (HVAC) systems operate safely and efficiently, while also providing top‑tier remote support for a range of equipment. This hybrid role blends hands‑on technical work with remote communication, offering a unique career pathway that can lead to advanced HVAC certification, supervisory positions, or specialized technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote customer service assistance for HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, rack warmers, and exhaust fans.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues using remote diagnostic tools, detailed schematics, and customer feedback.
  • Coordinate on‑site support when necessary, collaborating with field technicians to resolve complex problems.
  • Document service calls, repair actions, and follow‑up steps in arenaflex’s CRM system with precision and clarity.
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and local codes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment both virtually (digital files) and physically (tool kits, workstations).
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including participation in regular drug and alcohol testing as required for safety‑sensitive positions.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs, webinars, and certification courses to stay current with industry advancements.
  • Support team initiatives, contribute ideas for process improvements, and mentor newer apprentices as you gain experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1‑2 years in commercial HVAC service, installation, or maintenance; experience with central air systems is highly preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50 lb and maneuvering equipment on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities; comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Team Orientation: Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Certification such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or EPA 608.
  • Experience with remote monitoring platforms, IoT sensors, and cloud‑based service management tools.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and energy‑efficiency protocols.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards (NEC) and local building codes.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate customer needs.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Problem‑Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical issues quickly and develop effective, customer‑focused solutions.
  • Customer Empathy: Understanding of customer concerns, ability to convey technical information in plain language, and commitment to delivering a positive service experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate documentation, precise measurements, and meticulous adherence to safety procedures.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, evolving technology, and a dynamic work schedule.
  • Time Management: Efficiently prioritize tasks, manage multiple service calls, and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
