Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Part‑Time Remote Customer Support Specialist to join our CTrides project team. This role focuses on the statewide transportation demand management (TDM) program and provides frontline assistance for commuter rail services on the Shore Line East and Hartford Line corridors. The position is weekend‑based, operating from 7 am to 6 pm Eastern Time, and offers a blend of remote work with occasional in‑person training sessions.

As a key member of the customer service hub, you will be the voice of arenaflex for thousands of daily commuters, delivering accurate information, timely alerts, and personalized travel solutions. Your contributions will directly influence rider satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall perception of arenaflex’s transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, accurate, and prompt telephone, email, and web‑based support to commuters and other stakeholders.
  • Develop deep familiarity with Connecticut’s rail and bus services, schedules, fare structures, and service alerts.
  • Navigate multiple web‑based and printed sources to locate and verify transportation information quickly.
  • Answer inbound calls, route inquiries to appropriate departments, and resolve issues on first contact whenever possible.
  • Utilize the Live Chat platform to engage with customers in real‑time, delivering concise and helpful responses.
  • Monitor and manage several dedicated email inboxes, drafting clear and professional replies.
  • Compile and disseminate time‑sensitive service alerts across email, SMS, social media, and website channels.
  • Design customized commute plans based on individual travel needs, preferences, and accessibility requirements.
  • Conduct outbound follow‑up calls to verify satisfaction, gather feedback, and provide second‑level support when needed.
  • Assist the outreach and marketing team with administrative tasks, data entry, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to update route and schedule information in the content management system (CMS).
  • Leverage arenaflex’s internal tools, Microsoft Office or G Suite applications, and other digital resources to complete daily assignments efficiently.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or a comparable blend of education and work history.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, and chat.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that every piece of information shared with customers is accurate and up‑to‑date.
  • Excellent time‑management and multitasking skills, with the capacity to handle multiple inquiries simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail).
  • Availability to attend a mandatory two‑week training program on weekdays before commencing weekend duties.
  • Commitment to work the designated weekend schedule (7 am‑6 pm ET) consistently.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in a customer service or call‑center environment, preferably within transportation, public transit, or related sectors.
  • Familiarity with transportation terminology, commuter rail operations, and demand‑management concepts.
  • Experience using live‑chat software, ticketing systems, or CRM platforms.
