The Social Media Team Lead oversees the strategic direction and daily execution of Nova Ukraine’s digital presence across major platforms, managing a global team to ensure effective messaging that supports the organization's mission to advocate for Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the strategic planning, creation, and publication of high-quality, high-impact content tailored specifically for all major social media platforms
  • Manage and coordinate a distributed global team of volunteers and contractors, ensuring alignment and seamless execution across disparate U.S. and Ukraine time zones
  • Execute targeted, multi-channel campaigns directly tied to specific organizational fundraising, advocacy, and awareness goals
  • Analyze digital trends and own performance tracking using Google Analytics, native platform insights, and social management tools, delivering monthly reports with actionable optimization recommendations
  • Repurpose core social content into cohesive, scalable assets for email marketing, website updates, and broader campaign collateral
  • Monitor Ukraine-related geopolitical developments to ensure all content is culturally sensitive, fostering community interaction with a strict "dignity-first" approach

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or public relations
  • Proven experience managing distributed teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics and native social platform insights
  • Prior experience running digital fundraising or advocacy campaigns in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
