Why This Role Matters

As a Senior General Ledger (GL) Bookkeeper, you will be a cornerstone of our finance team, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of our financial records. Your work will directly support strategic decision‑making, drive process improvements, and help maintain the integrity of our financial reporting in line with US GAAP and internal controls. This is a 100 % remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while collaborating with a high‑performing, globally distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and review month‑end journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial close.
  • Own the monthly close process for multiple business units, coordinating with cross‑functional partners to resolve discrepancies and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and arenaflex’s internal accounting policies, applying best‑practice methodologies.
  • Assist external auditors during annual and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to inquiries.
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, and other stakeholders to address complex accounting issues, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Lead special projects aimed at enhancing accounting processes, automation, and data integrity across the finance function.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for GL activities, contributing to a knowledge base that supports team scalability.
  • Continuously monitor and improve internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX and PCAOB requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger management.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SOX/internal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP (or similar cloud‑based accounting systems) and familiarity with Coupa and GSuite.
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is a strong plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with financial reporting tools, data visualization platforms, and automation scripts.
  • Track record of leading process‑improvement initiatives that resulted in measurable efficiency gains.
  • Comfort with large data sets and a detail‑oriented mindset that drives accuracy and completeness.
