[Remote] Statistical Analyst - Pricing and Analytics

Frankenmuth Insurance is seeking a Statistical Analyst to support their External Data Reporting team, focusing on ISO Commercial Lines and Personal Lines statistical reporting. This role involves preparing submissions, owning reporting issues, and collaborating with technical and business teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit recurring ISO CL and PL statistical filings
- Review and interpret ISO manuals, reporting instructions, and edit feedback
- Research prior submissions to ensure consistent reporting decisions
- Investigate errors, edit failures, and data anomalies
- Coordinate with Product, Claims, policy systems, and data teams to resolve issues
- Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, decisions, and changes
- Owning known ISO reporting issues from identification through resolution
- Writing technical business requirements for reporting fixes or enhancements
- Partnering with IT teams to translate requirements into system changes
- Participating in testing, validation, and implementation
- Identifying and planning for future ISO reporting changes
- Balancing recurring ISO deadlines with longer‑term improvement work
- Managing multiple priorities, sometimes with incomplete information
- Interpreting guidance rather than following step‑by‑step instructions
- Communicating clearly with internal partners across teams
- Documenting work so decisions can be referenced later
- Responding to ad hoc ISO or regulatory requests when they come up
Skills
- 5+ years of experience with regulatory, statistical, or bureau reporting
- Excel skills; moderate technical ability with room to grow (e.g., Business Objects, Power BI, SQL)
- Experience documenting business requirements or processes
- Comfortable coordinating work across multiple departments
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Willingness to take ownership and see work through
- Comfort asking questions when guidance isn't clear
- Ability to manage competing priorities responsibly
