Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst II – Information Insights & Business Intelligence to join our fast‑growing Data Ventures team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and product strategy, providing critical intelligence that fuels product development, operational efficiency, and customer experience improvements. While the position offers a flexible hybrid schedule (three days on‑site in our California hub, two days remote), we welcome candidates from the surrounding regions of Bentonville, AR or Dallas, TX who can collaborate in‑person as needed.

As a member of the Data Analytics & Data Enablement organization, you will partner with cross‑functional teams—including Digital Commerce, Global Technology, and Product Management—to ensure data is accurate, secure, and leveraged to its fullest potential. Your work will directly support three strategic pillars: launching new data products, optimizing product performance, and safeguarding data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, and transform large‑scale datasets from multiple sources (SQL, Python, Presto, Google BigQuery, Hive, etc.).
  • Collaborate with product owners to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for new product releases and create dashboards that visualize trends, anomalies, and business impact.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing to uncover hidden patterns and generate actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with data stewards and data engineering teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with governance standards (using tools such as Collibra, Google DataPlex, or SAS Data Quality).
  • Develop and present clear, compelling data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains by analyzing operational data and recommending process improvements.
  • Support data security initiatives by monitoring access controls, performing risk assessments, and contributing to incident response plans.
  • Mentor junior analysts, share best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the analytics community.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in data analysis, data science, or business intelligence within a retail, finance, or e‑commerce environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language for data manipulation (Python, R, or Scala).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights and visualizations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience applying statistical techniques and predictive modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hybrid work environment and adapt to evolving business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced coursework in Data Science, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
  • Familiarity with data quality and governance tools (Collibra, Google DataPlex, SAS Data Quality, IBM InfoSphere).
  • Hands‑on experience building ETL pipelines using orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Prefect, or similar).
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and exposure to AI/ML model evaluation.
  • Background in retail, marketing, or financial services analytics.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools beyond Power BI, such as Tableau, Looker, or Qlik.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cucumber, Tosca) for data validation.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Engineering: Ability to design scalable pipelines, work with large datasets, and optimize query performance.
  • Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Data Visualization: Crafting intuitive dashboards that tell a story and drive decision‑making.
  • Collaboration: Working effectively with product, engineering, and business partners to align on goals.
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative approach to complex data challenges, with a focus on delivering measurable impact.
  • Communication: Translating technical findings into business language for senior leadership.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, rapid iteration, and continuous improvement.
