Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Music Gear Sales over the Phone position based in the Nashville Metropolitan Area. The role involves handling inbound and outbound phone calls to help customers select guitars, amps, pedals, recording equipment, and related music gear that best match their needs and budget. You will provide product recommendations, explain features and benefits, answer technical and musical questions, and guide customers through the purchasing process. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate notes in the sales system, following up on leads, managing order details, and coordinating with fulfillment or support teams as needed. You will also stay current on new products, promotions, and industry trends to offer informed, trustworthy advice and contribute to sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in music performance and general music knowledge, with the ability to understand players’ needs and recommend appropriate gear.
  • Familiarity with music production and recording workflows, including how different instruments and equipment fit into studio or live setups.
  • Understanding of music education concepts, enabling clear explanation of gear choices for learners, educators, and developing artists.
  • Awareness of the music industry landscape, including common use cases for gear in touring, studio work, and content creation.
  • Proven phone-based sales or customer service experience, ideally in music retail or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and consultative selling skills, with a customer-centered approach.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in the Nashville Metropolitan Area and collaborate effectively with a small, focused team.
  • Comfort using basic CRM or sales software, managing call notes, and following structured sales processes.
  • High level of reliability, professionalism, and integrity, with a commitment to inclusive, respectful customer and team interactions.
  • Formal music training, experience as a gigging or recording musician, or prior work in music retail is strongly preferred but not required.
