Job Description
As a Flight Attendant for American Airlines, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable flying experience for our passengers. This role extends beyond mere hospitality; it involves ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers, delivering high-quality service, and responding effectively in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
– Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during flights
– Provide exceptional customer service and respond to passengers needs and inquiries
– Conduct pre-flight inspections and safety checks
– Administer first aid to passengers if needed
– Demonstrate emergency and safety procedures
– Serve meals and beverages to passengers
– Assist with luggage stowage and retrieval
– Calmly manage in-flight situations and emergencies
Requirements
– Minimum age of 18 years
– High school diploma or GED equivalent
– Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
– Ability to obtain a passport
– Willingness to relocate as required
– Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
– Physical ability to perform job duties (including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, reach overhead bins, and stand/walk for long periods)
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– No visible tattoos or multiple piercings that cannot be covered discreetly
– Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards
Educational Qualifications
– High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is advantageous
– Customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required
Experience
– Prior experience in customer service or hospitality can be beneficial
– Previous flight attendant experience not required as paid training is provided
