Experienced Hotel Accountant with M3 Expertise

Purpose of the Role We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the daily financial and accounting operations for our hotel functions. This role includes the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of all financial operations, including financial statement preparations, cash management, budget analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other finance-related duties. Duties And Responsibilities • Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications, collections, and payroll. • Oversee the monthly accounting close process, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization for hotel properties. • Roll daily reports for each hotel property using M3 Accounting Core and PMS system. • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts daily. • Communicate regularly with hospitality field operators to gather information and provide insights on financial results and market trends. • Deliver timely and accurate financial processing, month-end close, cash management reports, and balance sheet reconciliation. • Handle cash management, including international wire transfers, ACH payments, and maintaining lines of credit. • Process new customer credit references and assign credit limits and terms. • Coordinate and direct the development and preparation of budgets, forecasts, and projections. • Prepare State Sales & Use Taxes quarterly, semi-annually, or annually as needed. • Maintain files and comply with record retention requirements. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reports, and detailed analysis reports, including MISC-1099 for sales agents. • Execute month-end closing journal entries. • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. • Handle monthly sales tax filings. • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization. • Perform other daily duties as assigned. Skills, Abilities, And Experience • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Experience with M3 Accounting Core. • Hospitality or hotel industry experience is a plus. • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. • Self-directed and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. • Able to work independently. • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills. • Effective communication. • Professional and ethical behavior. • Excellent customer service skills. • Quick learner and hard worker. • Team player with the ability to get along with others. • Proficient in English with good grammar and communication skills (both written and verbal). Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience; experience in the hospitality industry preferred. • 1 year of M3 Accounting Core experience.
