We are actively seeking a meticulous and dedicated Medical Biller to join our esteemed healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will play an essential part in ensuring that our medical billing and coding processes adhere to industry standards and regulations, thereby contributing to the financial health of our organization. You will collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance carriers to facilitate prompt payments and resolve any billing discrepancies that may arise. Candidates with a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) are encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience in startup environments and an interest in advancing medical AI. Key Responsibilities • Manage the billing process by ensuring precise coding and compliance with healthcare regulations. • Utilize ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures. • Review medical records to verify the accuracy and completeness of information necessary for billing claims. • Submit insurance claims correctly and timely to prevent delays in payment. • Conduct follow-ups on unpaid claims, ensuring they are processed efficiently or escalated as necessary. • Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries. • Maintain organized and detailed records of all billing transactions and communications. • Stay updated on changes to coding practices, insurance policies, and regulations pertinent to medical billing. Required Skills • Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). • In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS). • Proficient experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong problem-solving capabilities. • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders. • Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team. Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline is preferred. • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in medical coding is highly desirable.
