Job Title: Power BI Solution Architect Location: Remote (EST hours, candidate should ok for occasional travel) Job Type: Full Time Job Summary: The Power BI Solution Architect is responsible for architecting and delivering end-to-end Power BI solutions that meet business requirements and drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. This role involves designing complex data models, integrating data from various sources, and creating visually compelling and insightful reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering BI solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Solution Architecture and Design: • Lead the architecture, design, and development of Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and dataflows. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into effective Power BI solutions. • Develop scalable and reusable Power BI solutions that adhere to best practices and industry standards. • Data Integration and Modeling: • Design and implement robust data models that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance in Power BI. • Integrate data from various sources, including on-premises databases, cloud services, and external APIs, into Power BI. • Optimize data models for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing. • Advanced Analytics and Visualization: • Develop advanced DAX formulas and Power Query transformations to create complex calculations and data transformations. • Create visually appealing and user-friendly reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights. • Implement drill-through, bookmarks, and other advanced features to enhance the user experience. • Collaboration and Leadership: • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment of Power BI solutions with other data and analytics initiatives. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and analysts in the use of Power BI. • Lead workshops, training sessions, and demos to promote the adoption and effective use of Power BI across the organization. • Governance and Best Practices: • Establish and enforce Power BI governance practices, including naming conventions, data security, and report lifecycle management. • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, data privacy regulations, and organizational standards. • Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices, and recommend their adoption where applicable. • Continuous Improvement: • Identify opportunities to enhance existing Power BI solutions and processes, driving continuous improvement and innovation. • Monitor and assess the performance of Power BI solutions, making recommendations for optimization and scalability. • Contribute to the development of a Power BI Center of Excellence (CoE) within the organization. Qualifications: • Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. • Experience: • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar role, with at least 3 years focused on Power BI. • Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex Power BI solutions for large organizations. • Expertise in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service. • Experience with SQL, Azure Data Services, and other data integration tools. • Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time. • Certifications: • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar certification is preferred. • Additional certifications in data architecture or related fields are a plus.
