Job Title: HCC Medical Coder - Remote Job Overview We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Coder specializing in Risk Adjustment and Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding to join our esteemed team. Key Responsibilities

Accurately review and code medical records and encounters for diagnoses and procedures, adhering to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding standards. Implement ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and other pertinent coding regulations to ensure compliance and precision. Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data. Address and resolve any discrepancies between clinical documentation and diagnosis coding. Stay abreast of the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and updates related to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding. Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality and data security. Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and team members to clarify documentation and resolve coding inquiries. Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance coding proficiency and effectiveness. Generate reports on coding activities, accuracy, and trends. Support coding audits (both internal and external) to ensure adherence to coding practices. Identify and recommend enhancements to the coding process and documentation accuracy. Required Skills Valid CPC or CCS certification (required); CRC or advanced certifications are preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding within a healthcare setting. In-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodologies. Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software. Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work autonomously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. Knowledgeable about HIPAA and other compliance regulations.

Qualifications

Certification: CPC or CCS (mandatory). Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding in a healthcare environment.

Compensation

Pay Rate: (20/hr, with potential earnings of up to )27/hr based on performance metrics. Part-time/Seasonal position with shift hours from 6 AM to 6 PM CST.
