School Nurse - RN

Position: School Registered Nurse (RN) Location: East Orange, NJ Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Start Date: Immediate We are seeking a dedicated School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in East Orange, NJ. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic school district, providing essential health services to K-12 students. Job Responsibilities: • Provide direct health services to students, including administering medications, managing chronic conditions, and handling emergency situations. • Conduct routine health assessments, screenings, and documentation of student health records. • Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and families to address health concerns and create individualized health plans for students. • Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics, including proper hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as needed. • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of students with special health needs. • Participate in IEP meetings, offering insights related to students' medical conditions and health accommodations. • Manage and maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with state health regulations. Qualifications: • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey. • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. • Previous experience as a school nurse or pediatric nursing experience is preferred. • Knowledge of child health and development, including common health conditions in school-aged children. • Ability to manage medical emergencies and administer first aid and medications. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers. • Ability to create individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special medical needs.
