Job Overview The Nurse Practitioner, Midwife provides medical services to clients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services by independently managing women's health care with emphasis on the maternity cycle. The Nurse Practitioner practices in collaboration with an obstetrician/gynecologist, or family practice physician if no obstetrician/gynecologist at assigned base. Minimum Requirements Graduation from an accredited school of nursing acceptable and graduation from a nurse-midwifery program required. Minimum of 3 years experience as a practicing nurse midwife also required. Completed training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as some complex medical conditions. Current licensure in the State of California. Certification as a Nurse Midwife. Previous experience with computer-based systems required; Electronic Medical records experience preferred. BLS certification required Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
