DescriptionAmazon Ads is looking for a Senior Principal, UX Designer to join us as we innovate and streamline campaign planning, management, and reporting experiences, making the complex seem simple. You’ll be involved in all aspects of product development from brainstorming the next innovation to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, product management to bring it to life.We are looking for a UX Leader who loves learning, and is passionate about conceiving experiences in the abstract and then driving that vision into solid design deliverables such as complex workflows, wireframes, user interface designs, interaction models, and prototypes. You have comprehensive understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices, with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design and functionality. The Ads UX (AUX) team excels at distilling the needs of a diverse user base into experiences that balance efficiency with robust utility.Key job responsibilitiesOwn the UX of an emerging product with impact across AmazonCreate user-centered designs by considering market analysis, data, customer feedback, user research and technical constraints/opportunities.Quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives.Thoughtfully simplifies and distills complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI.Establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications—working closely with developers to see your design through to deployment.Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.Partner closely with other product and design teams across AmazonMentor junior talentExamples of shipped work across multiple platformsAbout the teamAmazon Advertising operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, offering a rich array of advertising solutions with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy.Basic Qualifications15+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, product designer or similar role designing mobile, web, and/or other applicationsAn online portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile devicesExcellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skillsProven experience with rapid, iterative design and development processesProven track record presenting to and influencing people, from other designers to senior executive managementExperience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, web developers, writers, product managers and software developersFluency in best practices for multimodal experiences and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniquesBachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience within the design fieldPreferred Qualifications10+ years of experience managing and influencing senior leaders to help teams progress quicklyExcellent bias for action including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWilling to roll up the sleeves to meet business and product deliverablesDesign operations experience required to drive organizational design, product roadmaps, project planning, and resource prioritizationProven ability to drive the design review cycle and present to senior leadership stakeholdersPossess excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skillsExperience with advertising products and technologyAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $196,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $292,800/year in our highest geographic market.
