Remote Bookkeeper for Optometric Practices

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team and manage the financial records for a diverse portfolio of optometric practices. This remote position will involve transaction coding, statement reconciliation, monthly closings, and payroll oversight for our member practices. As we expand our offerings, additional duties may include managing accounts payable and assisting with bill payments. Key Responsibilities • Supervise the bookkeeping and financial reporting processes for independent practice owners. • Collaborate with practice owners on equipment purchase decisions and assist in coding transactions. • Reconcile accounts and ensure timely monthly closings. • Facilitate payroll processing, including tax payments and filing payroll reports. • Manage bookkeeping for up to 60 client practices monthly. • Provide insightful feedback to enhance our services. Required Skills • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential. • Familiarity with QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto Payroll, ADP, and/or Paychex is preferred. • Strong Excel skills (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong time management abilities and attention to detail. • Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting. • Committed to teamwork and collaboration. • Adaptable and capable of succeeding in a dynamic environment. Qualifications • Experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar capacity is required. • A strong attention to detail and accuracy is crucial. • Prior experience working with small businesses is a plus.
