Team

The Engineering & Data team builds innovative tech products and platforms to support the impressive growth of their gaming and consumer apps which allow Voodoo to stay at the forefront of the mobile industry.

Within the Data team, you’ll join the Ad-Network Team which is an autonomous squad of around 30 people. The team is composed of top-tier software engineers, infrastructure engineers, data engineers, mobile engineers, and data scientists (among which 3 Kaggle Masters). The goal of this team is to provide a way for Voodoo to monetize our inventory directly with advertising partners, and relies on advanced technological solutions to optimize advertising in a real-time bidding environment. It is a strategic topic with significant impact on the business.

Role

  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines around our lakehouse to align with ever-evolving business needs, ensuring optimal architecture support;
  • Develop the core data engineering tools (monitoring, orchestration, data modeling, security) that support downstream team;
  • Take ownership of projects from initial discussions to release, including feature estimation & scoping, architecture design, and benchmarking of new technologies;
  • Work closely with infrastructure teams as a Data Ops to optimize our use of cloud technologies;
  • Work in a very agile environment with a fast decision process, having the opportunity to collaborate directly with people working on back-end development, data science, mobile games, broad audience mobile apps, product & marketing.

    • Profile (Must have)

  • 5/6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or another similar role
  • Proven experience in complex data-intensive project(s), with a deep understand of the architecture and challenges (support)
  • Strong Expertise in Big Data Frameworks: Spark (especially on Kubernetes), Iceberg for Lakehouse management
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deep AWS knowledge (EC2, S3, EMR, Lambda, etc.)
  • Data Pipeline Orchestration: Airflow (preferably MWAA)
  • Programming Skills: Python / Java
  • Scalability Experience: Designing distributed data systems to handle large data volume (partitioning, replication, transactions, consistency/consensus)
  • Data Modeling & Storage Optimization: Schema design for large-scale data and optimizing Iceberg tables

    • Nice to Have

  • Streaming Data & Low-Latency Systems: Kafka, Flink, or similar real-time data processing tools
  • Experience with Identity Graphs: Graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) or frameworks for identity resolution
  • Performance Tuning: JVM tuning, Spark job optimization, K8S resource optimization
  • GRPC Knowledge: For real-time data services integration
  • Security & Compliance: Data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and encryption techniques
