This is an exciting opportunity to join SCB’s marketing team. The Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in the firm’s most essential marketing goals and programs. This individual will bring skillful writing ability, strong design and visual instincts, and a team-oriented mindset. This is an in-person role and can be located in Boston or Chicago. Detailed Role Description The Marketing Coordinator will join SCB’s marketing team, which includes a marketing director, senior marketing manager, marketing coordinators, and a graphic designer. This department is responsible for the development, management, and execution of proposals, presentations (interview, client, and public), collateral, firm communications and digital presence, public relations, photography, award submissions, and all other marketing-focused activities. Duties and Responsibilities (Production) Working with the Principal-in-Charge and the firm’s business development team to develop a winning strategy. Creating proposal outlines and work plans and keeping the project team informed and up to date. Gathering any information and/or data required for the proposal approach. Creating, designing, and managing the production of proposals from start to finish. Creating, designing, and managing client presentations and marketing collateral by adhering to SCB branding standards. This can include digital graphics, print materials, portfolios, brochures, posters, and signage. Maintaining a library of firm collateral such as resumes, project pages, project lists, and photography. Updating marketing information systems such as the Deltek database and other resources. Interfacing with project managers for project information and coordination. Participating in the creation of project-specific strategies with the marketing production team and design team leadership. Attending pre-proposal meetings hosted by the client as needed. Duties and Responsibilities (Writing) Providing written guidance during proposal, interview, and presentation production across the firmwide marketing team. Drafting and editing project descriptions for use in proposals and on the SCB website; meeting with design teams to record notes. Updating and editing existing firmwide language used to describe our services in proposals and presentations. Working alongside design teams to prepare presentations and pitches; drafting speaking points. Candidates should have 1-3 years relevant experience (AEC industry related is a plus). Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Demonstrated writing experience for client-facing, professional services pieces. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office. Basic understanding of web content platforms, email marketing programs, and social media management. Curiosity to learn about the firm’s practices, market sectors, and portfolio of work. Must be highly organized and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
