Learn more about us at: https://saltboxcustomhomes.com/ Responsibilities: • Developing detailed drawings of custom homes, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details. • Working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements and translate concepts into technical drawings. • Ensuring that all drawings comply with relevant building codes and regulations. • Proficiently using CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to produce accurate and high-quality drawings. • Incorporating feedback and making revisions to drawings as necessary throughout the design and construction process. • Keeping comprehensive records of all drawings and revisions to ensure accuracy and accountability. • Communicating effectively with the construction team to address any issues or questions related to the drawings. • Keeping abreast of industry trends, new CAD technologies, and best practices to enhance design efficiency and quality. • Identifying and resolving design-related problems or discrepancies during the construction phase. • Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines. Qualifications: • A degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred. • Previous experience in CAD drafting, preferably in the construction or architectural industry (+3 years). • A strong portfolio showcasing previous CAD drafting work, particularly related to residential construction or custom home design. • Extensive experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp. • Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of architectural designs, floor plans, and construction documents. • Understanding of local and national building codes and regulations. • Familiarity with construction industry standards and best practices. • Knowledge of architectural design principles and construction techniques. • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings. • Willingness to learn new software and technologies as they are adopted in the industry. • Ability to adapt to evolving design and construction practices. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and specifications. • Ability to identify and resolve potential design issues. • Good communication skills to collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively. • Aptitude for solving design and technical problems. • Ability to adapt to changes and find creative solutions. Compensation and benefits: • Full Time • Starting salary at $30.00 per hour, depending on experience • 2 Weeks paid vacation with increase of 1 day per year with a capped paid vacation of 3 weeks • Christmas bonus • Health Care • 401k Apply Job!
