As a Principal Actuary, you will lead complex actuarial projects in an engaging work environment that values collaboration and strives for excellence. You will work closely with other actuaries to review and enhance rate level indications and/or rate segmentation analyses for a line of business. Your primary responsibility will be to provide sound pricing recommendations to the Product Manager who is responsible for the performance of these states. Position Compensation Range: $109,000.00 - $186,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Certain geographic locations may qualify for a salary range of $123,000 to $209,000 Yearly. Primary Accountabilities • You will provide actuarial expertise and consultation on the full range of actuarial activities related to either insurance pricing or ratemaking for a line of business (LOB), loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance Leads development of pricing for new products and rating structures. • You will explore new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business. • You will monitor industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to actuarial strategies and solutions. • You will lead projects and/or develops staff. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements • Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS). • Extensive knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends. • Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts, pricing, ratemaking, loss reserving, modeling or reinsurance depending upon area of specialty. • Demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques. • Extensive knowledge and understanding of forecasting and statistical analysis and modeling. • Solid knowledge and understanding of profitability, growth and risk concepts.
