About the position The position of Phlebotomist involves performing essential duties related to specimen collection, receiving, and referrals. The role emphasizes adherence to company values and regulatory standards while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Phlebotomist is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment, procuring necessary supplies, and ensuring specimen integrity during collection and processing. Responsibilities • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals. , • Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. , • Ensure company philosophy and core values are evident in service delivery. , • Take responsibility for professional growth and continued education. , • Assure quality of work performed by all associates. , • Coordinate services to customers to provide satisfaction and cost-efficient operations. , • Ensure compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, and other regulatory standards. , • Maintain collection tray/container/bag and working area in a neat and sanitary condition. , • Restock supplies as necessary and procure supplies in cooperation with the team lead. , • Prepare specimens for referral to outside labs, including ordering and packaging. , • Perform all patient specimen collections including venipuncture, capillary collection, and urine drug screen collection. , • Ensure specimen requirements are met at the time of collection and maintain specimen integrity. , • Demonstrate good communication skills with customers, patients, and healthcare professionals. , • Operate the laboratory computer system for documentation and order entry. , • Complete associate performance evaluations and annual competency assessments in a timely manner. Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent preferred. , • Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred. , • Familiarity with medical terminology and computer data entry. , • Organizational skills are essential. , • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred. , • Certification from a National Accredited Program preferred.
