Certified Professional Medical Coder- Hybrid

KWB Pathology Associates is seeking an experienced Pathology Certified Professional Medical Coder to join our team! We are a 100% pathologist-owned laboratory that has served the greater Big Bend area of Florida for over half a century. We strive for excellence in caring for our patients, clients, and employees. This is a hybrid position. Hours are Monday ? Friday, 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm. Pay is $23.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience. Education/Experience: ? High school diploma or equivalent required ? Two years? Pathology coding experience preferred ? Five or more years coding experience preferred ? AAPC certification required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ? Knowledge ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding guidelines ? Knowledge of basic human anatomy ? Proficient in medical terminology ? Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check. Primary Responsibilities/Functions: ? Providing correct ICD10 and CPT codes and modifiers for all pathology services ? Educating physicians on documentation requirements for proper coding ? Posting charges, insurance payments and patient payments ? Verifying eligibility ? Filing insurance claims, working denials through to completion and filing appeals ? Completing electronic deposits ?
