Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic. The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with the specific intern.
Qualifications
The incumbent must be enrolled in an associates, bachelors, masters or graduate degree program from a college or university, or have electronics training in the United States Military. Completed coursework in business or finance is helpful. Typically, the internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the degree program. Where applicable - the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option). Knowledge of computer operating systems, networking, and microprocessors is desirable. Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Also, Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Exemption Status Nonexempt

Detail This position has a predetermined rate of $25.00 per hour.

Eligible No Schedule Part Time Hours/Pay Period 80 Schedule Details The HTM student internship schedule is flexible to allow for coursework requirements to be met. The hours will be arranged with the supervisor based on incumbents academic calendar. Weekend Schedule No weekend or afterhours work will be performed by the HTM student intern.
