Maryland-Work From Home Special Education Teacher Position Type: Full-Time with school breaks and holidays Start Date: August 2025 Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at a behavior-focused boarding school. This position provides an opportunity to work with students ages 5-21, specifically addressing behavior-related special education IEPs. Key Responsibilities: • Work with students aged 5-21 with emotional and behavioral needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). • Manage classrooms of 20 students, providing tailored instruction and behavior interventions. • Collaborate with a team of support staff including paraprofessionals to deliver individualized, goal-oriented support. • Implement and manage specific behavior interventions and strategies in line with the school’s approach. • Participate in IEP meetings and work closely with families and other educators to ensure the success of each student. • Provide training and guidance to staff, with access to ongoing onsite professional development. • Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Qualifications: • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-specific requirements may apply). • Experience or strong interest in working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders. • Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff. • Strong communication and organizational skills. • Commitment to student growth, safety, and well-being.
