Data Entry Specialist – EHR Transition (U.S.-Based, HIPAA-Compliant, BAA Required) Contract | Remote | Short-Term Project We are a small healthcare startup transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR) system and are seeking a U.S.-based Data Entry Specialist to assist with migrating patient records. This role involves handling Protected Health Information (PHI) and requires full compliance with HIPAA, including execution of a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Scope of Work Accurately extract and enter clinical data (e.g., demographics, medications, diagnoses, visit notes) into a new EHR platform Source material will include PDF files and exported records from a previous EMR Adhere to structured templates and naming conventions Work within a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment (e.g., via remote desktop or secure cloud system)
Qualifications
Must be U.S.-based and legally able to sign a HIPAA-compliant Business Associate Agreement (BAA) Proven experience in healthcare data entry or EHR transition projects Strong attention to detail and confidentiality Familiarity with PHI handling standards and HIPAA best practices Prior experience working with EHR systems preferred This is a remote, short-term contract with flexible hours.
