Grade School Level Language Arts Tutor
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Language Arts Tutor to join our team at Tutor Doctor - North County San Diego in Carlsbad, California. As a Language Arts Tutor, you will work with students at grade school level to improve their reading, writing, and language skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. This is a part-time, hourly position with the potential for growth within the company.Compensation & Benefits: The compensation for this position will be $24.70 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, we offer flexible scheduling, professional development opportunities, and a a robust online portal with resources to help you build your tutoring skills.Responsibilities: - Develop personalized lesson plans and curriculum to meet the individual needs of students - Identify areas for improvement and help students build fundamental language skills - Provide instruction and guidance on reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing techniques - Administer assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly - Communicate with parents to provide feedback on student progress and address any concerns - Use online tutoring resources from Tutor Doctor to continuously improve tutoring abilitiesPreferred Requirements: - 2-years of college level classes with degree aspiration in Journalism, English, Education, or a related field - Experience tutoring or teaching Language Arts - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans - Proficiency in various teaching methods and strategies - Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on student availabilityEEOC Statement: Tutor Doctor is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
