Job Description: TITLE: Spanish Clinic Tutor DEPARTMENT: Spanish Clinic SUPERVISOR: Leslie Daniels SSTA Approver: Leslie Daniels SCHEDULE: 8 hours per week POSITION LEVEL: Non-Supervisory General Statement of Duties The Spanish Clinic provides students of all levels with assistance in their studies of the Spanish language through in-person and online peer tutoring sessions. Some areas of Spanish tutoring include: homework, listening, reading, conversation, extra practice activities for grammar, feedback on writing, and study skills. The Spanish Clinic seeks motivated, responsible students to serve as peer tutors. Responsibilities: * Assist students of Spanish of all levels in peer tutoring sessions Provide students of Spanish with help in the following areas: homework, listening, reading, conversation, grammar, writing, and study skills Maintain records of Spanish Clinic services and make suggestions on how to improve services Mentor new hires on best practices for tutoring Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: Required Qualifications: * Advanced proficiency and strong writing ability in Spanish Interpersonal communication skills necessary for talking one-on-one with other students and colleagues Dependability and flexibility A positive attitude towards other students and colleagues Preferred Qualifications: * Interest in teaching Prior experience tutoring, especially in Spanish Has taken a 300-level Spanish class and/or SP 355 Additional Information: Worcester State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer which seeks to reflect the diversity of its community. *This position is available for WSU students only* Hourly Rate: $15.00 Application Instructions: Students must apply online. *This position is for WSU students only.* Expected salary : $15 per hour Location : Worcester, MA Apply Job!
