(Sr.) Principal Field Application Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

The (Sr.) Principal Field Application Engineer works across the EMEA Sales & Marketing department and the Business Group Application and Marketing teams. You will drive all necessary technical support actions to ensure business creation at some major Automotive and Industrial accounts, across the whole Nexperia product portfolio, including Wide-Bandgap as well as Analog and Power products.

What you will do

  • Accountable to drive design wins in target accounts

  • Drive customer visits and distribution partner trainings for technical product presentations, demonstrations, and value proposition deployment

  • Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure the win

  • Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps

  • Runs project management of Nexperia design-in campaigns for assigned customers to ensure early involvement in the customer’s technology roadmap and continuous and timely flow of information to all necessary parties within the Business Groups and customers

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements and establishes Nexperia's value proposition / position relative to the competition

  • Qualifies the value of Nexperia's products (strengths versus competitive products) and quantifies the technical benefits derived from choosing Nexperia

  • Owns the block diagram process to ensure broader technical team understands the full system requirements

  • Delivers ongoing formal and informal knowledge sharing and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial, and business impact of Nexperia solutions within their practice areas

  • Successfully builds relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives

  • Analyses customer's technical objectives enabling the sales team to be more predictive, effective and responsive to customer needs

  • Assists in educating regional sales team on new technologies, new product features and their related business value

What you will need

  • University degree (preferably Master’s degree) in Electronic Engineering or similar

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering and application engineering

  • Preferably related work experience at a customer within the Automotive and/or Industrial segments

  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills to drive communication with relevant stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English

  • Target driven, shows initiative and have an entrepreneurial attitude

  • Willingness to travel frequently
