About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an IT Operations Technician to augment our IT Operations team. The IT Operations Technician is responsible for supporting Axsome’s technology operations and business programs that underpin Axsome’s business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support in a small to medium-sized company. This is a hands-on role that is instrumental in providing exceptional technological support to our internal stakeholders.

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in a wide variety of on-premise hardware, software, and inventory management duties
  • Procure, manage, monitor, configure, deploy, ship, and maintain hardware and software technology assets
  • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting:
    • A/V conference facilities, laptops, mobile devices, and software
    • ITSM toolset, structure, metrics reporting and documentation (JIRA)
    • Core MSOffice (M365)
    • Networking
    • Printers
  • Deploy hardware and install specialist software
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Interact with multiple vendors to support Axsome IT helpdesk and warehousing processes
  • VIP technology support (Windows, MacOS, iOS)
  • Develop and maintain support documentation
  • Assist in maintaining HQ IT infrastructure solutions
  • Assist with M365 administration and occasional operations engineering and automation tasks
  • Remain up to date on emerging operational technologies and their potential utility

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related field, accompanied by 2+ years of helpdesk support experience, or a combination of equivalent experience, training, and education
  • Experience with modern mobile and desktop hardware and software technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, high-priority tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience working in a young life sciences company or a fast-paced startup environment
  • Background in troubleshooting hardware and software in a helpdesk environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with and troubleshooting Microsoft Office (M365) issues strongly preferred
  • Experience working with service management (ITSM) tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
  • Comfortable under pressure, confident in their ability, and is comfortable with escalating issues to management as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate and simplify technology topics and procedures with team members and other organizational personnel
  • Hands on, energetic motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for learning
  • Agreeable to working with ambiguous mandates in a less-structured environment

Salary and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
