Job Title: Portuguese Language Tutor (Part-Time) for SLCC Students
Join our team at Salt Lake Community College and make a meaningful impact on students' lives as a Portuguese Language Tutor! We are seeking a highly motivated and fluent Portuguese speaker to provide individualized support to students taking Portuguese language courses. As a tutor, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse environment, both in-person and remotely, and contribute to the academic success of our students.
About the Role
- Tutor SLCC students in Portuguese language courses (Por 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020, 1900, 2900) in-person and on Zoom
- Assist students with understanding course materials, assignments, and online language-learning programs
- Establish and maintain tutoring hours, attend meetings, and complete required trainings
- Help organize and host cultural events, participate in CfL activities, and host conversation tables for speakers of the target language
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese (demonstrated through online proficiency testing)
- Familiarity with Portuguese cultures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good computer skills
- Current SLCC student with a 3.0 GPA (preferred)
- Language teaching or tutoring experience (preferred)
