Special Education Teacher - Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH)

Join Our Team of Dedicated Educators! The San Diego County Office of Education is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to work with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. About the Role: As a Special Education Teacher - DHH, you will plan and implement high-quality learning experiences for students with diverse needs. You will work with students from toddlers to young adults, providing direct instruction, preparing daily plans, and evaluating progress. Your expertise will help integrate IEP goals into lessons, and you will conduct evaluations to determine eligibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement quality learning experiences for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Prepare daily plans to provide itinerant services for students
  • Provide direct instruction based on the student's Individual Education Program (IEP)
  • Evaluate and report progress on IEP goals
  • Conduct evaluations to determine eligibility

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or related field
  • Valid Education Specialist teaching credential with an authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Valid English Learner authorization (CLAD or equivalent)
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing with diverse learning differences
