Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Learning Collaborative Tutor (TLC) to join our team at Johns Hopkins University's School of Nursing. As a TLC, you will play a vital role in promoting student success by providing learner-centric, engaging, responsive, and interactive academic support to enrolled degree and certificate students. Responsibilities

  • Tutoring and Support: Provide in-person and online tutoring and writing support to JHSON students, working collaboratively with them to engage in their own learning and problem-solving process.
  • Training and Development: Attend orientation/training at the start of the semester, scheduled trainings/staff meetings throughout the semester, and complete professional development tasks/projects as assigned.
  • Record Keeping: Create and maintain records of appointments and student progress.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in any subject. Master's degree in English (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience with tutoring and/or teaching. Experience with online tutoring and/or teaching preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to adapt to student needs, and utilize various tutoring approaches. Reliable, professional, and able to maintain professional collegiality with students, staff, faculty, and fellow tutors.
