About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of sales representatives and drive business growth in the Advanced Surgical Instruments Business Unit. As a District Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for supervising sales teams, achieving sales objectives, and representing Medtronic in accordance with Company policies and AdvaMed guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of sales representatives to achieve sales objectives and grow business in the assigned region
  • Manage and communicate individual territory sales quotas annually, and oversee consistent quota achievement of each sales representative within the region
  • Work with sales representatives to formulate, monitor, and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business
  • Drive new product sales, act as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions, and evaluations
  • Create and execute on strategic objectives for the region, align with Sales Leaders (RVPs) to prioritize representatives' time and focus on key opportunities
  • Manage sales rep recruiting and training, interview, hire, and develop new sales representatives
  • Evaluate representative performance, and develop/executes action plans for improvement
  • Focus on representatives' development to ensure availability of quality talent pool for promotion
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, manage and monitor regional sales expense budget, and maintain an ongoing assessment of expense-to-budget performance
  • Attend required national trade shows, attend and staff local trade shows within the region as deemed appropriate
  • Coordinate as necessary with the Marketing Department, administer company policies and procedures to representatives in the region, and ensure compliance with The Medtronic Guide to Business Conduct, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safety policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of medical device sales and leadership experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience
  • Nice to have: 5 years medical sales/marketing experience, with at least 3 years of Medtronic sales experience, and at least 3 years of experience in direct management of employees
