Overview The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. Salary Range $87,600.00 - $144,500.00 Target Openings 1 What Is the Opportunity?

  • The Creative Services Proofreading Manager ensures that all written content in company marketing materials (digital, video and print) is in accordance with Travelers Brand Guidelines, free from typos, grammatically correct and engaging to readers.
  • In this role, you will interact and partner closely with various functions across the Marketing department; be responsible for maintaining editorial consistency and brand integrity throughout the enterprise; and recruit, manage and train freelance proofreaders, assign workload, set priorities to ensure adherence to schedules and oversee job performance as needed.

  • Review copy and design to detect and mark errors in grammar (punctuation, spelling, capitalization); typography (fonts, point sizes, leading and tracking); and composition (style, voice, syntax).
  • Provide copy suggestions when necessary to improve style and flow.
  • Ensure adherence to AP Style and the Travelers Writing Style Guide. Also responsible for maintaining department/business segment style guides and glossaries.
  • Enforce correct usage of trademarks, service marks, disclaimers, etc. while upholding corporate brand standards.
  • Work closely with management to ensure consistency and delivery of quality work for all internal and external customers.
  • Have experience with a variety of assets such as ads, banners, bios, booklets, brochures, calendars, corporate communications, emails (Salesforce), infographics, interactive media, market research trends articles, newsletters, podcasts, postcards, posters, promotional materials, sell sheets, social media, training guides, videos, webinars, websites and white papers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an advertising agency or corporate setting a plus.
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Word, Outlook, Adobe Editor and Foxit, plus familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Workfront.
  • Ability to employ tact and emotional intelligence when working with others.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent judgment and critical thinking throughout day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to independently meet and manage deadlines, including internal check-ins.
  • Expert-level time management and multitasking abilities
  • Managerial experience preferred

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in proofreading and copy editing
