Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Android) to join our team. Our ideal teammate is passionate about building high-performance mobile applications, thrives on solving complex challenges, and has a proven record of shipping high-quality Android apps to the Play Store. If you love Kotlin, clean architecture, and mentoring others while pushing the limits of mobile engineering—this one’s for you.

Instead of the typical job description, here’s a breakdown of tasks and qualities we’re looking for:

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, code, and debug scalable, robust, and high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative new features.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of Android applications.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks.
  • Uphold and advocate for modern best practices in mobile software design through code reviews and architectural discussions.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of learning, quality, and innovation.
  • Continuously research and adopt new tools, frameworks, and techniques to optimize development efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies, trends, and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
  • Proven track record of publishing high-quality Android applications to the Google Play Store.
  • Strong expertise in Kotlin and Java.
  • Deep understanding of the Android SDK, device variations, and OS versions.
  • Solid experience with RESTful APIs for backend integrations.
  • Strong grasp of Android UI/UX design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with performance and memory optimization tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Schenectady, New York
  • 100% Remote for the right candidate

Other Information

The work hours will be approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required. Salary dependent upon experience.Position available immediately.
