Compensation: Competitive salary in $USD, based on experience Modality: Hybrid at least 2 days in the office (Alajuela near the airport)
What you'll be doing
Monitoring database performance and optimizing query execution for efficiency.
Ensuring data integrity, availability, and recoverability through backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Troubleshooting database issues and providing timely resolutions.
Collaborating with developers, analysts, and IT teams to design and optimize database structures.
Automating routine database administration tasks using scripting and database tools.
Managing database access and user permissions based on security best practices.
Building ETL (Export, Transform, and Load) operations to warehouse, data lake, etc.
Designing and maintaining databases with strong SQL experience.
Data Analysis and Data modelling with cloud data platforms.
Staying up to date with emerging database technologies and best practices.
Effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, ML engineers, and data engineers.
What you have
3 years of experience in database administration, management, or related roles.
Expertise in relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
Strong understanding of database security principles and access control.
Knowledge of database monitoring tools and techniques.
Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
3-5 Years strong experience of building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. (Python, Spark, Snowpark, SQL etc.)
What will make you stand out
3+ years of database administration experience. (SQL Server / Postgres)
3-5 Years strong experience of building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. (Python, Spark, Snowpark, SQL).
Strong background in data modeling and implementing robust monitoring/alerting strategies for production data pipelines.
Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g. Sigma, Tableau, Power BI) for creating impactful dashboards and reports.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with SCRUM.
Good understanding of Data Science or Machine Learning practices.
Certifications on any of these data platforms SQL Server, AWS or Snowflake is plus.
