The Data Engineering Team

Our Data Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data pipelines that power our business. We work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business value. As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of a collaborative team that's passionate about data and committed to excellence.

Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team, where you'll be responsible for developing and supporting our cloud-based data pipelines. You'll work closely with our data scientists, engineers, and analysts to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that meet the needs of our business. Your expertise in data engineering, cloud computing, and data analytics will be essential in helping us drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Python

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to understand business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that integrate with various data sources, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data warehouses
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing data validation, data cleansing, and data encryption techniques
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows and data pipelines using tools such as Docker, GitLab, and Wind stream
  • Work closely with our data scientists to develop and maintain data models, data visualizations, and data analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to develop and maintain data-driven applications and services
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment of data pipelines and applications
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and cloud computing

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
  • Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with experience working with Snowflake and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Experience with containerization using Docker
  • Experience with source control systems, such as GitLab or GitHub
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data visualization, and data analytics concepts

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, such as Hadoop or Spark

  • Proficiency in cloud design and product development, ideally with AWS
  • Experience with data governance, data security, and data compliance
  • Experience with data quality, data cleansing, and data validation techniques
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data architecture, and data infrastructure
