Job Summary

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Remote Live Chat Data Entry Specialist to join our data‑intensive team. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between our customers, product owners, and engineering squads, ensuring that voice‑of‑the‑customer (VOC) insights are captured, transformed, and loaded into our enterprise‑grade data platform. You will work closely with utility teams, data architects, and analytics engineers to design robust data models, validate data quality, and support real‑time and batch analytical solutions built on Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python.

Key Responsibilities

Data Capture & Transformation

  • Collaborate with utility teams to gather, document, and translate business requirements into technical data specifications.
  • Collect and curate voice‑of‑the‑customer (VOC) data from live chat interactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest raw chat logs into the core data lake.
  • Apply data‑cleansing techniques, including de‑duplication, normalization, and enrichment, to guarantee high‑quality downstream analytics.

Data Modeling & Architecture

  • Architect and implement robust data models that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Define standardized metric definitions and ensure consistent usage across the organization.
  • Work with data engineers to build and optimize Hive tables, Parquet files, and Spark dataframes for efficient query performance.
  • Participate in schema evolution discussions, balancing flexibility with data governance requirements.

Analytics Enablement & Testing

  • Enable big‑data and real‑time analytical solutions by leveraging Hadoop ecosystem tools (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark) and Python/PySpark scripts.
  • Conduct rigorous data validation and testing at multiple levels—unit, integration, and end‑to‑end—to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop automated test suites and monitoring dashboards that surface data quality issues before they impact business users.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve data processing efficiency and reduce latency.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, and UX designers to translate functional requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies—daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives—to deliver incremental value every two weeks.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (GSN, AET, and other internal groups) to prioritize data initiatives aligned with the VOC “Stop‑Loss” strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation of repetitive data‑entry tasks, driving operational efficiency and reducing manual error.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and shell scripting in a production environment.
  • Data Skills: Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain large‑scale data pipelines and data models.
  • Customer Focus: Prior experience in customer service or data‑entry roles, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and empathy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, and a track record of delivering incremental product releases.
  • Typing Proficiency: High typing speed (≥70 WPM) with a focus on precision.
  • Multitasking Ability: Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, remote work setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially services like EMR, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and data security best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Certification in data engineering, big data, or related fields (e.g., Cloudera Certified Associate, AWS Data Analytics).
