As a growing retail organization committed to delivering great value and dependable service, arenaflex operates stores designed to be a trusted resource for families and individuals seeking quality products at affordable prices. Our team members are the heart of our brand, and we are currently seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join us as Customer Experience Associates. If you take pride in helping others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to grow your career in retail operations, arenaflex welcomes your application.

Position Overview

The Customer Experience Associate at arenaflex plays a central role in shaping the in-store experience for every shopper who walks through our doors. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, value teamwork, and are motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in their community. As a Customer Experience Associate, you will be the friendly face that greets customers, assists them in finding the products they need, processes their transactions accurately, and ensures that the store remains organized, clean, and welcoming at all times. This is a hands-on, active role that requires a balance of customer service skills, attention to detail, and physical stamina.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of the arenaflex team, your day-to-day contributions will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of the store. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement: Greet every customer with a positive, approachable attitude and provide assistance with product selection, pricing inquiries, and general questions about merchandise, store policies, and services.
  • Store Presentation and Merchandising: Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment that enhances the shopping experience and makes it easy for customers to find what they need.
  • Inventory Support: Assist with unloading delivery trucks, organizing incoming merchandise, and transporting products from the stockroom to the sales floor in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Shelf Stocking and Recovery: Independently stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and recover items to ensure the sales floor remains full, neat, and visually appealing throughout the day.
  • Transaction Processing: Accurately handle customer payments, process sales transactions, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system with confidence and attention to detail.
  • Safety and Security Awareness: Remain vigilant about customer activity and store conditions to help maintain a safe, secure shopping environment for both customers and team members.
  • Operational Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by store leadership to support the overall effectiveness and profitability of store operations.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

Education

We prefer candidates who have completed high school or hold an equivalent credential such as a GED. The ability to follow written and verbal directives and interpret basic retail operational documents is essential for success in this role.

Experience

While previous experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant service, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred, it is not strictly required. arenaflex values potential and a willingness to learn just as much as prior experience. Candidates with backgrounds in customer-facing roles — whether in food service, hotel operations, or other service industries — often transition successfully into this position.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, physically demanding role. The ability to perform the following physical activities regularly is required:

  • Lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height, with occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive lifting throughout the shift.
  • Maintain the physical stamina needed to keep up with a fast-paced retail environment.

Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.

Availability

Flexibility is key for this position. Associates must be available to work a full-time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. arenaflex operates seven days a week, and varied availability is essential to ensure consistent store coverage and excellent customer service.

Skills and Competencies for Success

At arenaflex, we have identified the core competencies that contribute to success in the Customer Experience Associate role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Customer Focus: A genuine desire to help customers and create positive shopping experiences.
  • Developing Potential: A willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges within the organization.
  • Results Driven: A motivated, goal-oriented mindset that contributes to store performance and operational excellence.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: The ability to keep the store tidy, manage multiple tasks, and maintain order during busy periods.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, friendly, and effective verbal communication with customers and team members.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: The ability to think on your feet, address customer concerns, and make sound judgments in real time.
  • Job Knowledge: A solid understanding of store operations, products, and policies, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Relationship Management: The ability to build positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
