[Remote] VP of Sales, Public Sector SaaS

Gables Search Group is seeking a VP of Sales, Public Sector SaaS to lead revenue growth for a software company serving state government agencies and public-sector organizations. This executive leadership role will focus on sales strategy, team performance, and revenue growth across complex government markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing SaaS sales team
- Drive revenue growth across state government and public-sector accounts
- Strengthen pipeline generation, opportunity management, forecasting, and sales accountability
- Partner with team members on strategic opportunities, executive relationships, and complex deals
- Improve sales process, CRM discipline, performance metrics, and operating rhythms
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Delivery, and Finance to support go-to-market execution
- Provide market insight, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to the executive team
Skills
- Proven success leading and scaling SaaS sales organizations
- Experience selling software solutions into state government or public-sector markets
- Strong understanding of government procurement, RFPs, RFIs, contract vehicles, and formal buying processes
- Track record of improving pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, team accountability, and revenue performance
- Experience recruiting, coaching, and developing SaaS sales professionals
- Executive presence with the ability to engage agency leaders, procurement stakeholders, and senior decision-makers
- Comfortable using CRM data, sales analytics, and metrics to drive performance
- Bachelor's degree
