[Remote] Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EIS is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and develop their engineering team focused on supporting manufacturing processes and product improvements. The role involves driving alignment between engineering initiatives and business objectives, ensuring product reliability, and promoting collaboration across functions to enhance operational performance and quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and build engineering capabilities through training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Assign work, set expectations, and ensure accountability for timely and accurate project execution
- Support resource planning and staffing needs within the engineering team
- Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring scope, cost, and timeline goals are met
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to ensure solutions are operationally feasible and sustainable
- Track and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation actions
- Identify improvement opportunities using structured problem-solving (Lean, Six Sigma, DOE)
- Reduce manufacturing variation and cost while maintaining product performance and customer expectations
- Increase equipment uptime and process capability through engineered solutions
- Provide subject matter guidance on product design, tooling, automation, material selection, and manufacturability
- Ensure engineering solutions meet regulatory, safety, and internal standards
- Approve engineering documentation including drawings, change requests, procedures, and work instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation of engineering designs, modifications, and test results
- Prepare and present progress reports, technical reviews, and performance metrics to senior management
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, or methods that improve productivity or product quality
- Partner with R&D or customer engineering resources to support new product introduction and design improvements
- Support safe manufacturing through engineered safeguards and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with required standards such as OSHA, ISO, and customer specifications
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with 2+ years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in CAD software and ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR)
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in analyzing data and developing actionable insights
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management
