[Remote] Adobe CMS Business Analyst (contract)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Xcel Energy is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join their CMS Replacement Project, focusing on transitioning their main customer website onto Adobe Experience Manager. The role involves writing user stories, capturing business requirements, and supporting configuration efforts within an Agile Scrum team.
Responsibilities
- Write high-volume, high-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria to support development and configuration efforts across CMS, DAM, personalization, search, and integrations
- Capture and translate business requirements into functional specifications and help refine design documents in collaboration with Business and Delivery teams
- Support configuration requirements for templates, components, and forms by clarifying requirements to guide Developers
- Gather and document personalization requirements using AEM and Adobe Target, including audience targeting, A/B testing, and experience optimization
- Define and document website search requirements, including search configuration, indexing, relevancy, and faceting and filtering expectations
- Define integration requirements across the digital ecosystem, including Google Analytics 4, Salesforce CRM Chatbot and Live Agent functionality, Medallia, SSO, and other CMS and DAM integrations as needed
- Assist with content and asset migration efforts, including content and asset mapping to support the re-platforming initiative
- Partner with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Lead BA, and Systems Integrator to drive delivery and maintain project momentum
- Actively participate in all sprint ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning with estimation, Story Refinement meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
- Perform functional validation and testing support on authored stories to confirm work was completed correctly, in partnership with the Product Owner
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to simplify and enhance team processes
- Act as a quality check on deliverables and overall user experience throughout the project lifecycle
Skills
- Hands-on expertise with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Sites CMS and AEM Assets DAM, with strong, demonstrable knowledge across both sides of the ecosystem
- Proven ability to write clear, customer-focused user stories using the traditional 'As a, I want, so that' format, with strong and well-defined acceptance criteria
- Experience gathering requirements for Adobe Target and personalization, including audience targeting, A/B testing, and experience optimization
- Experience gathering requirements for website search functionality, including out-of-the-box Adobe search, indexing, relevancy, and faceting and filtering
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, story refinement, and clarifying design documents in partnership with both Business and Delivery teams
- Experience writing requirements for CMS and DAM integrations, including Google Analytics 4, Salesforce CRM, Medallia, SSO, and related digital ecosystem connections
- Familiarity with content and asset management workflows for the purpose of requirements gathering and story writing
- Ability to balance business needs with technical feasibility in a fast-paced delivery environment
- Experience supporting functional testing and validation of authored stories, with a UAT mindset and the ability to test from the customer's point of view
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate independently and manage deadlines responsibly
- 5 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments
- Proven experience supporting CMS implementations and website re-platforming projects, ideally involving a migration from a legacy CMS to Adobe
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and writing user stories for CMS and DAM integrations and personalization tooling
- No specific degree or certification is required; however, demonstrated expertise and a strong portfolio of relevant project experience in Adobe CMS and DAM implementations will be considered in lieu of formal credentials
- Familiarity with the Scrum Framework is required
- Familiarity with the broader Adobe ecosystem, including Adobe Analytics and Adobe Launch and Tags, is a plus
- Experience in utility, regulated-industry, or large enterprise website environments is a plus
- Scrum or Agile certification is a plus
- Prior experience on a Salesforce-to-Adobe or comparable legacy-to-Adobe migration is preferred
