Why This Role Matters

The Environment and Operational Insights Group at arenaflex is the engine that powers the reliability, quality, and scalability of the entire content ecosystem. This team partners closely with engineering, product, and analytics groups to ensure that data pipelines, metrics, and dashboards are accurate, actionable, and aligned with strategic goals. As a Data Operations Analyst, you will be a critical bridge between raw data and business decision‑making, helping stakeholders across the organization turn massive data sets into clear, impactful insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own End‑to‑End Data Models: Design, develop, and maintain foundational data models that support product analytics, user behavior tracking, and operational health monitoring.
  • Build Scalable Data Pipelines: Create robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering tools (e.g., Python, Spark, Snowflake) to ingest, transform, and store large‑scale datasets from diverse sources such as user activity logs, content metadata, and subscription events.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work hand‑in‑hand with software engineers throughout the development lifecycle to embed data collection, logging, and reporting directly into product features.
  • Develop Insightful Visualizations: Produce interactive dashboards and visual reports using Tableau, Looker, or similar tools that enable non‑technical stakeholders to quickly grasp trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
  • Communicate Data‑Driven Stories: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise narratives for executives, product managers, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in data quality, propose enhancements, and implement automated testing and monitoring to ensure data integrity over time.
  • Support Decision‑Making: Provide ad‑hoc analysis, statistical inference, and predictive modeling to answer business questions and guide product strategy.

Essential Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience building data pipelines and analytical solutions in a fast‑paced technology environment.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with big‑data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Flink.
  • Strong foundation in statistical inference, hypothesis testing, and machine‑learning concepts for deriving actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to design intuitive schemas and data models for large‑scale datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and a portfolio of dashboards that have driven business impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of presenting technical findings to mixed‑audience stakeholders.
  • Self‑starter mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity, taking ownership, and delivering results with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data warehousing solutions.
  • Knowledge of streaming analytics (Kafka, Kinesis) and real‑time monitoring.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and product experimentation.
  • Previous work in the entertainment, media, or streaming industry.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑backed solutions.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong coding skills, data‑engineering best practices, and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable partnering with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to align on goals.
  • Communication: Clear storytelling ability, turning numbers into narratives that inspire action.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a rapidly evolving environment where priorities shift and new challenges emerge daily.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. In this role, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior data scientists and engineering leaders.
  • Annual learning stipend for conferences, certifications, or online courses.
  • Opportunities to lead cross‑functional projects that influence product roadmaps.
  • Clear promotion pathways from Analyst to Senior Analyst, Data Engineer, and eventually Data Product Manager.
  • Exposure to cutting‑edge technologies such as real‑time analytics, AI‑driven recommendation engines, and large‑scale cloud infrastructure.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; mental‑health resources and wellness programs.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous vacation policy, parental leave, and sick days.
