Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members via telephone, email, fax, web chat, and electronic mail.
  • Accurately research member information using internal systems, policy manuals, and regulatory guidelines to resolve inquiries promptly.
  • Educate members on plan benefits, coverage options, and claim processes, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Escalate sensitive or complex issues to senior specialists while maintaining ownership of the case until resolution.
  • Stay current with evolving state and federal regulations, adapting daily workflows to remain compliant.
  • Proactively recommend additional products or services that align with member needs, enhancing satisfaction and contributing to transaction profitability.
  • Document all interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) system with precision and professionalism.
  • Participate actively in live virtual training sessions, applying new knowledge to real‑world scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including claims, underwriting, and IT—to deliver seamless member experiences.
  • Maintain a distraction‑free home workspace equipped with reliable internet connectivity, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a customer‑service environment, preferably within health insurance or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume inbound calls while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Strong written communication skills for email and chat correspondence.
  • Basic familiarity with medical and dental terminology is advantageous.
  • Ability to commit to a 9‑12 week live virtual training program (8:00 am – 4:30 pm Central Time, Monday‑Friday).
  • Residency in the State of Nebraska or the Omaha metropolitan area at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience interpreting insurance contracts, policy language, and benefit summaries.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, ticketing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and a proactive, “can‑do” attitude.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts within the 7:30 am – 6:00 pm window, including early mornings or late afternoons as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with diverse member populations.
