About the position Five Rivers Analytics is seeking a Technical Design Specialist/Writer (Data Analyst) to join our team remotely. This position is integral to supporting the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G9 (ODCS, G9), Enterprise Architecture (EA) - Specialized Design and Compliance Support Services. The role requires reliable and timely Information Technology (IT) services to assist the ODCS, G-9 directorates and the Army-wide installations enterprise. As a mission-focused small business, Five Rivers Analytics is proud to provide specialized design and technical analysis services that support installation management capabilities modeling. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and production of technical and business analysis products, drafting substantive narratives for transformation initiatives, and rendering technical illustrations for architecture scenarios. You will engage in technical modeling, data modeling, and analysis, while also providing compliance support. Your expertise will be crucial in developing detailed recommendations for enhancing existing architecture, including actionable steps for modernization, cloud migration, and the implementation of DevSecOps practices. You will be expected to provide analytical reports that outline the rationale and expected benefits of each recommendation, ensuring that all deliverables contribute to the overall modernization and optimization goals of the organization. The Technical Design Specialist/Writer will work closely with the ODCS, G-9 Portfolio Management & Architecture Division to assist in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Army guidance. This includes providing technical writing and design expertise to support documentation of architecture specifications and business cases, as well as producing process specification narratives and transition plans. You will also be responsible for creating dimensional images, storyboard sketches, and designs covering Installation Management capability areas, ensuring timely delivery of designs and production support for various printed and electronic materials. Additionally, you may be required to provide ad-hoc on-site support at the Pentagon for projects, meetings, and other special requirements with minimal advance notice. Responsibilities • Provide technical writing and design expertise to support documentation of architecture specifications and business cases. , • Produce process specification narratives, transition plans, and business cases. , • Design and edit technical and business analysis products like PVF (Problem Verification Form) and CNS (Capability Needs Statement). , • Render technical illustrations for architecture scenarios. , • Create dimensional images, storyboard sketches, and designs covering Installation Management capability areas. , • Deliver design concepts, layouts, and mechanicals within 15 workdays from initial tasking for a range of printed and electronic materials. , • Support the electronic and print production of select business system products (DODAF Viewpoints and Models). , • Provide input into the contractor Monthly Status Report (MSR). , • Collect and assess complex data systems and programs in support of management or customer requests. , • Validate data for completeness and accuracy based on project guidelines. , • Develop and execute standard or custom queries or reports to retrieve data as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field. , • A minimum of 5 years' experience performing similar work. , • Currently holds an active Public Trust clearance or above. , • Experience in creating technical documentation or design specifications for IT systems or projects. , • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documents and diagrams. , • Knowledge and understanding of data modeling, data structure concepts, business process re-engineering, and enterprise architecture.
