With a mission to improve health outcomes and streamline operations, arenaflex invests heavily in cutting‑edge analytics, cloud‑based data platforms, and collaborative cross‑functional teams. As a remote‑first organization, arenaflex empowers its employees to work from anywhere in the United States while maintaining a vibrant, inclusive culture that values curiosity, continuous learning, and impact‑oriented results.

Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a seasoned Senior Analytics Engineer to join its Remote Data & Analytics Engineering team. This part‑time role (approximately 8 hours per week) offers a competitive rate of $30 per hour and provides a unique opportunity to shape the data foundation that powers arenaflex’s Health Services Quality Improvement program. You will partner with data scientists, BI engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines, warehouses, and analytical solutions that drive strategic decision‑making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of data and analytics initiatives for arenaflex Health Services, ensuring data quality, reliability, and timeliness.
  • Design, develop, and orchestrate complex ETL/ELT pipelines using industry‑standard tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and other cloud‑native platforms.
  • Construct and maintain dimensional data models, star schemas, and curated data marts that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including data scientists, BI developers, product managers, and external vendors—to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage, including data lineage, metadata management, and automated testing.
  • Develop and maintain data quality frameworks, performing profiling, validation, and remediation of data anomalies across internal systems and external sources (e.g., pharmacy claims, HEDIS, ECDS).
  • Create reusable data engineering components and internal tools that automate routine data‑processing tasks, improve QA processes, and accelerate delivery cycles.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Support the rollout of business intelligence dashboards and visualizations on platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, ensuring data consistency and performance.
  • Travel up to 5 % of the time for on‑site collaboration with arenaflex teams, partners, or industry conferences, as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience building data pipelines and data warehouses in a production environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python or Scala for data transformation, and experience with ETL/ELT orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar).
  • Data Modeling: Demonstrated ability to design and implement normalized and denormalized data structures, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Analytics Exposure: At least 2 years of direct involvement in analytics projects that influence business decisions, preferably within the health‑care or pharmacy domain.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively in cross‑functional, matrixed teams and building productive relationships with internal partners and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar data‑analytics certification.
  • Experience with healthcare data standards and terminology (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD‑10, CPT, NDC).
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medical claims processing, and quality improvement metrics such as HEDIS.
  • Familiarity with modern data lake architectures and big‑data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms beyond Azure, such as AWS or Google Cloud, and their respective data services.
  • Experience building self‑service BI solutions and data visualization best practices.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data problems, identify root causes, and propose elegant, data‑driven solutions.
  • Detail Orientation: Commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and documentation throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift based on business needs.
  • Innovation: Eagerness to explore emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance data processing efficiency.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit that encourages knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collective ownership of outcomes.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship programs with senior data architects and industry experts.
  • Sponsored certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, CAP) and tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees.
  • Regular internal hackathons and innovation challenges that encourage creative problem‑solving.
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that directly impact patient outcomes and business performance.
  • Cross‑departmental rotations to broaden your understanding of the health‑care ecosystem.
