[Remote] Project Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Boston Harbor Consulting is seeking a Project Manager to lead Vendavo implementation projects and serve as the main point of contact for client engagements. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, and budget while building strong relationships with clients and leading cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage client engagements with end-to-end ownership, from kickoff through post-production support
- Create and manage project schedules spanning configuration, development, testing, and go-live activities
- Oversee requirements gathering with clients and run user story grooming sessions with key stakeholders
- Obtain requirements sign-off for each sprint to ensure alignment with client objectives
- Provide coordination and leadership for internal and client project members, building rapport with project sponsors and mitigating conflict as needed
- Identify and track client pain points and gaps between business process requirements and platform capabilities
- Manage project scope and change orders, and identify opportunities to refine BHC’s service delivery processes
- Manage the activities and tasks associated with multiple projects simultaneously
- Ensure the project team complies with time-sheet guidelines so that resource-utilization and budget metrics stay accurate and current
- Ensure the project team documents all user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira
- Develop a working understanding of the features, capabilities, and limitations of the Vendavo platform, including its pricing, quoting and agreements, rebates, and analytics modules
- Support the development of training and implementation materials
- Monitor project progress by tracking development activity, resolving bottlenecks, and publishing status reports
- Communicate project progress to senior management and clients in writing and in daily meetings
Skills
- 5+ years of project or program management experience on large-scale enterprise software implementations that span multiple business units and multi-divisional deployments
- Ability to build trusted partnerships with executives and project teams, both internal and external
- Strong working knowledge of software implementation methodologies, with Agile experience preferred
- Ability to manage project budgets, scope, change orders, and project profitability
- Demonstrated experience managing teams and resolving complex business and application problems in a timely manner
- High-impact experience in customer-facing, consultative roles at an enterprise software company or professional technology consulting firm, ideally serving industrial, automotive, distribution, consumer packaged goods, chemical, or high-tech clients
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5 to 7 years of technology consulting and project implementation experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Organized, with excellent time-management skills
- Knowledge of project management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong working knowledge of software implementation methodologies, with Agile experience preferred
- PMP, Certified Scrum Master, or a comparable certification is a plus
- Experience with Vendavo, PriceFx, CPQ, or Salesforce is a plus
- Pricing experience is desirable
